I am a geek, through and through. I like zombies, witches, vampires, Star Trek, and ninjas. You put any of these things in a game or a movie, and you have my attention. It is therefore not surprising that Tenchu was one of my favorite Playstation games. I liked a lot, but not all the sequels. Tenchu Z is one to two years, Xbox 360. I played the demo when it came out, and was not impressed, so I took a pass. But I have since learned that some people absolutely loved the game. So I just took a copy on eBay for 14 $ shipped. For $ 14, you do not have much in so far as expectations go.If the game sucks, then so be it, I'll return eBay for $ 12. Well, I did not put up for sale on eBay, I played the beginning to the end and then some. Tenchu Z takes a different approach to characters as the previous games. All other games you play Rikimaru, Ayame, or a couple of other minor ninjas. In Z, you create your own ninja and take orders from Rikimaru. As you play, you unlock new clothing, accessories, Saya, items, skills and abilities. It was quite gratifying to be honest. I was very pleased to choose outfits for my badass ninja Everytime I got a new batch of clothes. Small things make me happy.Gameplay has not come very far since the angry sky. Stealth Kills are still under the combat is still weak, yet the elements are completely useless (but fun to use), and the AI is still completely silent. After the first few levels I played the whole game on "hard" and the only difference was the guys won a few vertical field of vision, meaning they could actually see you if you were on the roof in moonlight directly in front of them. The AI is so terrible, they leave you to continue after 5 seconds, usually Kicking dirt in frustration before running to their predetermined route of march.Some new elements were introduced, including the ability to cling to ceilings, walk on walls, stealth kill shoji, etc....
